The Towers of London
Self initiated project | 2011-2014 | Fine line pen on Bristol Board with digital additions
'The Towers of London' is a diagrammatic view of the tallest buildings and structures in London, as well as some other famous landmarks, juxtaposed beside each other to compare their
relative heights. The central illustration is a digitally-enhanced reproduction of an original pen drawing, and all buildings have been drawn with a
reasonable degree of accuracy with heights plotted after careful research.
Prints of this artwork are available to purchase via my online store.
There are 76 buildings and structures featured altogether, alongside Primrose Hill and a London bus. The tallest buildings include the Shard, Canary Wharf, Heron Tower, Tower 42, The Gherkin, BT Tower, the Walkie Talkie and Crystal Palace transmitter; other buildings include St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, St. Pancras Station and Tower Bridge. The print includes an insert which lists the details (height, date of completion and architects) of all the buildings featured.
